Hinterrhein Power Plant AG (KHR) operates the largest combination of hydroelectric energy-generating facilities in canton Graubünden, with the two reservoirs Valle die Lei and Sufers in addition to three central power stations located in Ferrera, Bärenburg and Sils. In the wake of 45 years in operation, many facility components have reached their technical service life – so the KHR power plant requires a complete overhaul (2011–2017). Prime developed the communications strategy for the project, with total volume amounting to CHF 275 million, as well as implemented numerous measures in the areas of public relations, corporate publishing, design and public affairs. The measures include, among other things, designing a project visual, expanding and updating the KHR website www.khr.ch, executing a series of information events and publishing a newsletter. The assignment also includes providing communications advisory services and support for the management in terms of media relations and other target groups. “We have initiated contact with all parties involved at an early stage in order to facilitate understanding and acceptance of this major project. With Prime, we have found a sparring partner that is able to provide us with professional support in this endeavour at the strategic as well as operational level,” declares KHR Director Guido Conrad.
