”Will we see the light before the power shortage hits?”11.06.2009 

The Association of Swiss Electricity Companies’ (ASEC) national campaign titled “The Future of Electricity” is set to kick off – a drive conceptualised and implemented by Prime.
 

What will be the source of our electricity in the future? The answer paints a picture of vast differences of opinion. As part of the campaign, the question – ”Will we see the light before the power shortage hits?” – should therefore be taken very seriously. Instead of relying on simple slogans, the ASEC is utilising a broad-based awareness campaign, which will remain up-to-date in the long term as well as embrace the enormous breadth and complexity of the topic. The focal point is directed at provocative, bold questions, aimed at raising awareness among the Swiss people regarding the challenges associated with the future provision of electricity. Responses to the questions are displayed on the campaign website (in German) at www.stromzukunft.ch (in French at www.avenirelectricite.ch; in Italian at www.futuroelettricita.ch).

“This campaign is unique for the Swiss electricity sector,” according to Dorothea Tiefenauer, Head of Communications and Human Resources at ASEC. “Our goal is to pave the way for thematic leadership in the debate over the future source of our electricity, with a realistic and consistent presence.” More than 400 Swiss energy supply companies stand behind the campaign, which is long-term oriented and comprises a series of publications, events and other communications tools for the member firms, in addition to advertising and website.
